Post-Operative Instructions for Extractions

    • Rest and Avoid Physical Activity: Rest and avoid any physical activity for the first 24 hours after surgery. Stay home from school or work.
    • Bleeding: Some bleeding is normal for up to 24 hours after extraction. Bite down on the provided cotton wool for 20 minutes to help control bleeding.
    • Swelling: Swelling is common. Prop your head up with pillows when resting or sleeping to minimize swelling.
    • Pain Management: use the prescribed medication your dentist gave you. If necessary use ice packs for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling and pain .
    • Oral Hygiene:  do not rinse or spit out on the extraction day. On the following day, rinse gently with warm salt water after every meal. Brush gently, avoiding the extraction sites for 1-2 weeks.
    • Avoid Certain Habits: Do not smoke, spit, drink through a straw, or consume carbonated beverages for 3 days after surgery.

Botox Care

    • Stay Upright: Avoid lying down for 3 to 4 hours after Botox injections.
    • Hands Off: Refrain from touching or massaging the treated area.
    • Be Patient: It may take a few days to a week to see the full effect of Botox.
    • Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners: These can increase bruising.
    • Follow-up appointments: Attend your scheduled follow-up appointment.

Braces Care

    • Brush Regularly: After every meal, brush thoroughly, paying extra attention to cleaning around the braces.
    • Floss Daily: Use a floss threader or other orthodontic flossing tools to clean between teeth and around braces. A water flosser will work best.
    • Watch Your Diet: Avoid hard and sticky foods to prevent damage.
    • Clinical Visits: Keep your scheduled appointments for adjustments and check-ups.
    • Wear Your Retainer: Follow instructions for retainer use.
    • Report Any Issues: If a wire or bracket comes loose, contact your treating Clinician promptly.

Dental Crowns (Fixed)

    • Oral Hygiene: Brush and floss as usual. Treat the crown like a natural tooth.
    • Avoid Hard Foods: Be gentle while eating to prevent damage.
    • Regular Dental Check-ups: Visit your dentist for routine examinations.

Dental Bridges (Fixed)

    • Oral Hygiene: Clean around the bridge using floss threaders or interdental brushes.
    • Avoid Sticky Foods: Be cautious to prevent dislodging the bridge.
    • Regular Dental Visits: Visit your dentist for maintenance and check-ups.

Dentures (Removable)

    • Daily Cleaning: Remove dentures and clean them thoroughly.
    • Overnight Soak: Soak dentures in water or denture solution overnight.
    • Oral Hygiene: Brush your gums, tongue, and any remaining natural teeth.
